Supplement Roadmap

Yes, another post like...the day after my original one.

But! This isn't actually a specific release, but instead a plan for ahead (after the Core Rulebook is fully completed)

The next book (which is actually being worked on right now) is "The Fade - Abyss: Bestiary of Morta IV", and it's likely to be larger than the Core Rulebook...God help me. The CRB is ~572 pages, give or take if I make some new updates. But that's already a ton. The Bestiary? With ONLY the planned monsters inserted into it and not including the chapters that follows, it's sitting at a nice and healthy 514..."Oh, that's not too bad" you might think at first, but, again this is before the next chapters. The following is the current chapter list;

  • Of Beast and Men (How to handle combat, with strategies depending on creature intelligence)
  • Monster Listing (listing of all monsters with types below and groups in parentheses)
    • Artificial (Golems, Colossus, Clockwork, Marionettes, and Oozes)
    • Beasts (Animals, Unusual & Cryptids, and Insects & Vermin)
    • Dragon (Pure, Horsemen, and Dragonoids)
    • Extradimensional (Holy, Unholy, Cthonic, Chaos, Norse, and Order)
    • Fey (Seelie and Unseelie)
    • Sapient (list of playable species, TBA)
    • Plant (Rooted and Unrooted)
    • Undead (Corporeal and Incorporeal)
  • NPC Codex (List of NPCs)
  • New Paths (New paths, primarily designed for villains and monsters, including new monster paths)
  • New Talents (New talents, self-explanatory)
  • New Spells (New spells, same deal, self explanatory)
  • Traps (Traps to use against parties)
  • Skill Challenges (Skill challenges, similar to the similar "Skill Scene" extended tests in Star Wars Saga Edition)
  • The Encounter Die (Encounter die; effectively a ruleset for the dungeon random encounters or encounters in the wild similar to JRPGs like Etrian Odyssey where travelling starts out with low chance for random encounters, and as you go it increases in chance)
  • Random Encounters (list of random encounters)
  • Legendary Antagonists (rules for "boss" characters, and similarly powerful forces)
  • Antagonist Factions (kinda self explanatory, rules for antagonistic factions and having NPCs from them, or if players want to join them)
  • Dimensional Hazards (dangers you can encounter during dimensional travel)
  • Regional & Planetary Variations (includes like it says; regional and planetary variations, this is for both playable species and monsters)

Beyond that, I'm not sure what will be the next sourcebooks. But, in no particular order these are planned;

  • Dark Rituals: A book completely dedicated to dark magic and evil - think "Book of Vile Darkness"
  • The Conversion Guide: Not official, but some rules and recommendations for converting from other systems to The Fade.
  •  Blood and Steel: Book dedicated for warfare, combat rules, and fighting styles.
  • Relics of the Past: Equipment book; especially for weapons, armor, and new magical items.
  • Spark of the Divine: Rules for divine spellcasters, more deities and Precepts, heretic sects, and Godslayer (aka "Epic Level") rules.
  • Planetary Gazetteer: New planets, expansions on existing planets, and lore. Very much a lore/setting heavy book.
  • Species Primer: These are actually a collection of 15-30 pg. supplements focusing on different species in greater detail, with species-specific content in mind, and giving more lore and info to them. Below is a list of the Species Primers planned.

    • Yahweh's Chosen: Humans and Angels
    • Chittering Hatred: Sankat
    • Scourge of Magic: Kendari
    • Love and Pharaoh: Ny'var
    • Abandoned Souls: Spirit Armor
    • Brink of Extinction: Satori and Nue
    • Children of the Night: Spiritborn and Vampire
    • Bred for War: Velshro
    • Small and Mighty: Goblin and Kobold
    • From the Feywild: Fairy and Smokeling
    • Voice of the Monad: Luminary
